Privacy at Zremi
Zremi exists so families can gather a life — biography, stories, photographs, voices, messages, and the documents that matter — in one quiet place. The trust that makes that possible is the most important thing we have. This page is a plain-language explanation of how we handle the data families and partners share with us.
Who we are
Zremi is operated by Zremi LLC, 117 S Lexington Street, Ste 100, Harrisonville, MO 64701, USA. If you have a privacy question, the fastest way to reach us is hello@zremi.com.
What we collect
Account information
When a partner or family creates a Zremi account, we collect their name, email address, and the role they play (partner, family lead, contributor). Partner accounts may also include the organization name and billing address.
Life album content
Whatever a family chooses to add to a life album — written stories, photographs, voice notes, video clips, messages from contributors, and uploaded documents — is stored on our servers so it can be displayed back to the people the family invites. Families can edit or delete this content at any time.
Linked online accounts
Zremi can index links to a deceased person's existing online presence (Facebook, Instagram, blogs, and so on). We never log in to those accounts. We never store credentials. We never republish private content. A link in Zremi is a pointer — nothing more.
Communication preferences (email and SMS)
If you reach out through our contact form or sign up for the partner free trial, we collect the email address you provide and, if you choose to share it, your mobile phone number. We use these only to respond to your inquiry and — only if you have checked the corresponding consent box — to send you the email or text messages you've opted in to.
Email. By checking the email-consent box you agree that Zremi may send you transactional and marketing email about the founding-partner program, your free trial, and product updates. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by replying with the word STOP.
SMS / text messages. By checking the text-message consent box and providing your mobile number, you expressly consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) to receive recurring informational and marketing text messages from Zremi at that number, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. We will not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes; if we use a third-party SMS provider it will only be to deliver the messages you've consented to. A record of your opt-in (including timestamp and the language you agreed to) is retained for compliance.
Site analytics
We collect minimal, privacy-respecting analytics about how zremi.com is used — page views, referrer, broad geography, and device type. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
How we use what we collect
- To run the service: store life albums, deliver invitations, send sponsorship renewal notices.
- To support partners and families when they email us.
- To improve Zremi — only in aggregate, never by reading a specific family's life album without an explicit support request from them.
- To meet legal obligations (tax records, valid law-enforcement requests).
We do not sell personal data. We do not show advertising in Zremi. We do not use family life album content to train any machine-learning model.
Who can see a life album
Life albums on Zremi are private by default. Only the people the family explicitly invites can see them. The sponsoring partner sees that the family has been onboarded and can see high-level usage signals; the partner does not see the life album's content.
Data retention
When a partner sponsorship ends, the family can continue on the Zremi Family plan or let it lapse. A lapsed life album stays viewable to invited family members in a read-only state — nothing is silently deleted. A family lead can request full deletion of a life album at any time by emailing hello@zremi.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email hello@zremi.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
We protect data in transit with TLS and encrypt sensitive data at rest. We limit employee access to family content to the smallest number of people necessary, and only with documented support justification. No internet service can promise perfect security, but we treat the contents of a Zremi life album with the seriousness that a family's memory deserves.
Children
Zremi is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes that affect existing families or partners, we will also notify them by email.
